This interactive workshop will cover action steps we can take to modify our home to be Aging-friendly & exercises to increase strength, flexibility, & balance. Presented by Jeanne Peyton of Aging Care Connections. Registration required. Rest and Relaxation Night

Third Annual Pumpkin Decorating Contest
All Ages
Oct. 1 - 25, 2018

Beginning on Sunday, October 1st, you can “check out” a pumpkin at the library! You don’t need to return it—just send us a picture of you and your decorated pumpkin for our Facebook page. Check-out a pumpkin from Oct. 1st – Oct. 25th – Submit pictures by Oct. 31st!

Mobile Room Escape - 5th Grade & Up

Devils in the White City - and Beyond

True crime author Richard Lindberg presents a fascinating montage of Gaslight Era serial killers, scoundrels, and murderers. A veritable rogues gallery will pass in review, including H.H. Holmes (the original Devil in the White City), matrimonial swindlers, and murderers Johann Hoch and Belle Gunness plus the enduring mystery of Lizzie Borden of Fall River (“Lizzie Borden Took and Axe…”) and Amy Archer Gilligan, the black widow who inspired  the play and movie “Arsenic and Old Lace.” Registration required. Dia de los Muetros

Come and celebrate Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) with us! Learn how people celebrate this holiday in Mexico. We will be making an altar and sugar skulls. After the activity, we will watch Coco and have churros and hot chocolate.
 

Beating the Holiday Blues

The holiday season can be a challenge for many. This seminar will cover recognizing and acknowledging symptoms of stress, depression, and anxiety as well as techniques to enhance self-care and self-advocacy. Presented by Jeanne Peyton from Aging Care Connections. Registration required. Limit 25.
